My husband has an account with Cumberland Building Society and when my IVA was finished and I came off the insolvency register he asked for me to be put on his account, but was refused. They say can not be added for 3 Years which seems a long time. The account does not have an overdraft facility.
Can I get an basic account with another provider.

Most providers will allow a basic account, even during an IVA. Many of us use the Co-Operative Cashminder account. Avoid HSBC and First Direct though --- they are particularly IVA unfriendly!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
