Once again, I am sorry for your loss --- but respondents on this site are not "biased towards IPs". We are all people who have gone through an IVA ourselves and what we tell you is our opinion of what might happen, based on our real life experiences and the experiences of others who have had an IVA.

The previous advice given here was that it wasn't a windfall, could be counted as income going forward and you should speak to your IP --- sort of sounds like your barristers reply.

If you have a barrister on board, get him to fight your corner with your IP. Have you even asked your IP what his views are at this stage ? With all due respect you are arguing against something that may not even be an issue.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
