Normal take home pay after tax = £2001
Got bonus, after tax took home £2646
Payplan telling me I have to pay £387 additional payment I thought it would be £220!! How have they worked that out?!

Have you got the 10% 50/50 clause or just 50/50 (as mine was) ?

If 10% 50/50 : 10% = 200 is yours then 445 split 50/50 -- the IVA is due £222.50

If 50/50 645 split 50/50 -- the IVA is due £322.50

Ask them to explain their figures -- are they working on a different base line income ?

10% 50/50 im totally confused! Have emailed them and asked them for confirmation of how they have calculated it. Have put aside the £220 but they want £387 paying in 2 weeks :(

Update: after 2 more chasers they came back and said they were sorry for the confusion that I owed £281. So it’s come down from 387 to 281. Told them I could pay that within the 14 time limit but I still wanted a calculation breakdown. Would be interested in seeing the controls they have in place around calculating additional payments I bet most people wouldn’t question it! Disgraceful behaviour in my opinion.

Glad you got it sorted. I was with Payplan as well and I had to send payslips in every quarter as well.

Even more confused now! So my IP who was ooo emailed back today. I said I was still waiting for the breakdown as I was confused how it was calculated. She said it is worked off my budget allowance which is £2326.03 (inc 10% allowance). Anything over this amount 50% needs to be paid into the IVA. So if i got paid £2646 then £2646 - £2326 = £320 and 50% of this is £160....am i being massively thick here?!?!

They are saying your base salary is £2094 --- 10% is £209
bonus was £645
Take off the £209 = £436 50/50 is £218 to be paid in.

I can see the way they are doing it .. but cannot understand why the result is different. Nor can I understand why, every time you and I do the maths, we get around £220 and, each time they have done it, they have come up with £387, then £281 and now £160 !!!

Maybe they did a typo on the £281 and meant £218 - god knows! I have a bloody physics degree and I am more confused now than i was at uni fgs.
