Hi - Yes I thought that would be it. But the register still shows 'current'. I have the IP's signature on the final review. Should I persist with Aperture or raise it to the insolvency service? I have nothing that actually says complete. Just one that says final report that the creditors have 28 days to respond too but that was on the 16/09.

Aperture, I am afraid have always treated the 6 months admin period as the standard time it takes and routinely take that long. There is very little you can do as this period is built into the term in standard proposals.

Okay. So today I received my email from Aperture congratulating me on the completion of my IVA. They will let the Insolvency service know that is complete this week.

So hopefully my final question. The insolvency service mark as complete but stays on there for 3 months.

Do we know when it is removed of my credit file? Is it shortly after it is marked complete or after the 3 months.

Bear in mind my IVA was 6 years so every other default is not showing just the court case.

Many Thanks, Mark

The insolvency service will remove the IVA from the register 'within' three months ( usually three months to the day). They will mark it completed in the meantime. They will report the completion to the credit reference agencies whenever their usual reporting cycle occurs. I believe that this should be within the three months, so, given that the IVA is over 6 years old, it may go from the CRA files before it does from the register.

Cheers Foggy. Yes that is what I am hoping. I think once complete in the register I will leave it 5 or 6 weeks to see if it goes from CRA,

Weirdly for the first time in nearly 7 years I actually need credit for a car for new job I have got!!! I am a lot more responsible now though. Will never go back to un-affordability.

Register with Credit Karma and / or Clearscore --- Once clear of the IVA, they can search suitable loans, without a hard search, giving you the chances of acceptance on the results listing.

Of course thats a great idea. I have both those and even with my IVA on they look pretty healthy now all the defaults have gone but obviously no one will give me a loan whilst an IVA is on there.

Will keep you updated on timescales of whats happened to me. Aperture was not so bad in the end but only after chasing a few times.

So in my hand is the scrap of paper which means I am free(ish) Certificate dated 23/03/2020. Still showing current on Insolvency status but this post just so people can see timescales. I will monitor the insolvency register and let you know when that shows completed. Just hope aperture have done their bit and advised them hahahaha

Congratulations -- very nearly there !

Might I suggest that you copy that scrap of paper several times as well as scanning it in to the computer. You never know when you might need to produce a copy, as severl posters have found out --- although, 7 years down the line, I have never had to produce mine .... I still look at it from time to time.

Great advice - I now have electronic / 1 stored safe / 5 copies which I may actaully need because I just noticed one of my creditors that was defaulted in 08/13 on by credit record which was removed after the 6 years has now appeared again as a new account but dated 2010 haha. It shows in good standing though - weird.

Emailed them to get it removed.

I can see the light - So on the Insolvency Register I am now showing completed which was exactly 1 week after I received the date of my completion cert.

I suppose now its a case of it filtering down to the CRA's.

It will filter through -- and, don't forget, these online glimpses we get through the likes of Cleardebt are around a month behind the actual 'live' reports creditors see. To see your report in actual time you have to get a statutory report directly from each agency.
