I've just worked out who you are!!!! And you know, you two live so near to each other - and about 1/5 mile from me it is uncanny!! Small world.

The newspaper used by the OR in Cardiff is the Western Mail - but the ad is about 2 cm long, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Best of luck to you both in the future, and I shall follow your cases on the forum with great interest.

Well done! Just goes to prove the old saying that it is only when we face our fears that they recede :)

In terms of bank accounts, I have found Nationwide to be absolutely brilliant ... and I am sure that the Experts will correct me if I am wrong ... but I don't think they are linked to any other institutions ... so it really is a fresh start? Indeed, they were the ONLY institution that I DIDN'T owe money to :( I survive very neatly nowadays on a combination of my basic Nationwide account and my Cashplus card for 'immediate' purchases such as petrol and hotel bills associated with my business.

I agree about Nationwide - they are very good. The only reason I use my Co-op account is because of the Debit Card. If I had been unable to open an account with the Co-op I would have been more than to use Nationwide.

Yes Melanie, I had to change my name on here because I had trouble logging on with my old one! Maybe Pippa and I should get together and form our very own BR Club!!!!

Oh and just to update, my mortgage payment did clear my account just as Andy said it would, so many thanks! But I have another slight problem! Last week I used my card, and I had thought that the payment had cleared, (well to be honest I had so much on my plate I never really checked!) but it hadn't and they only requested it yesterday - but it's not yet showing going out of my account. I realised this yesterday and contacted the company to put a stop on the payment but they said that the transaction had gone through, but this now means that my account will be overdrawn. But I declared to the OR that it wasn't OD! Should I pop in to the court and clarify this? Will this reflect badly with the OR?
