My husband is looking at going freelance in his work. Can you open a business account if you have an IVA? Thank you

Some banks are not forthcoming with business accounts for those in an IVA, but some have manged it. The trick seems to be getting to chat with a business advisor in branch who can over-ride the "computer says no" attitude. I have seen posters here get business accounts with Barclays, after human intervention in branch. but suspect this will be down to the individual managers, rather than the company as a whole.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Does he really need to open a business account or is it more for convenience?
