Hi, I completed a full and final IVA payment with Certificate of completion issued March 2016. I’ve checked Experian and one of my creditors ‘Cahoot ‘ is still showing an outstanding default amount while all the other creditors are stating a partial settlement. How can I resolve this. I’ve written to the suggested address on Experian but have had no reply ?

Does the cahoot loan show as being in default? If so, from what date ? The amounts are immaterial - it has to be officially defaulted.

Yes it shows as a default from 09/15 and shows an outstanding amount
All my other creditors show zero amount and ‘partially settled’
Concerned that this will impact on my ability to get credit

First of all, yes, it will impact your credit score and will stay on file until 09/21. It should be dated on or around the date of the start of the IVA, so that it drops off at the 6th anninversary.

You might find this quick video I made about cleaning up your credit record useful:

Noddle and Clearscore are also free credit agencies to consider using:

Hi Moira,

As foggy says the default will still show for 6 years from the date it was recorded (which should be the same as the IVA start date) so it will still have an impact on your ability to get credit for the full 6 years.

Regards
