Hi, I am a director, with my wife, of a limited company and the company itself is solvent with a good turnover. Unfortunately I have a high level of personal debt, unsecured, and I am considering an IVA to avoid bankruptcy. As we pay ourselves a lowish salary with a dividend, people like payplan are unable to help. I am wondering whether anyone has experience of situation of my nature and may be able to help.
I would not normally suggest specific firms, but you need one with experience of 'other than PAYE' employmenty scenarios, and, preferably a smaller firm which will give individual attention, rather than the 'IVA Factories', which rely on standarisation.
One such firm would be McCambridge Duffy, who I know deal with many self employed. Another to consider would be Neville and Co, who is represented on here by Lisa Thomas, and you could also try the number on the top right of the screen. I would suggest chatting to all three, to compare advice and to see who you feel comfortable working with.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
