Hi Krissi and welcome to the Forum.
You can apply for an IVA whether you are a homeowner, tenant, living with parents etc. However, if you have no assets bankruptcy may be a better option for you although the ultimate decision is your own.

Contact an insolvency firm for some free advice and find out exactly what your options are.

Hi and welcome,

You can apply for an IVA regardless of whether you own your home or are a council tenant.

You should speak to at least 2-3 providers for advice and you can check the reviews via www.iva.com

Welcome to the forum, Hubby and I are council house tenants and I am in an IVA so yes a tenant can get one,
I know people say well why didn't you just go BR as you have no assets but we wanted to pay as much back as we could.
If life is what you make it, I must have been in a strange mood when I made mine

I live with my Mam and family and am in an IVA, still have bills to contribute to etc... , it really does depend on your debt / income and expenditure but if you qualify on those fronts there should be no problem. I was advised that Bankruptcy would be a viable option but I want to and can pay pay back as much has been set out within my IVA and did not want to go the route of BR, speak to a few IVA companies and get a feel what seems right to you.

Hi Krissi and welcome to the forum, as others have confirmed an IVA could be a possibility, I would suggest you contact 2 or 3 companies to get some impartial debt advice as all debt solutions can be discussed and the ideal one found for yourself. Try www.iva.com for a list of companies and some reviews of these. Always take the advice of 2 or 3 companies to get impartial free advice. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
