Hi there , my mum has just told me she and my dad are sorting their will out , and have put me down as a executor , they are both fairly young still in their 40’s and in good health , I will be a beneficiary in their will along with my brother , but the chances of either of them passing before my iva ends in 4 years is very slim , god Forbid ! They have asked me to be the executor of their will which they will be sorting out in the next few months , but I’m worried as my parents do not know I am in a iva , by me being put down as the executor will there be checks made and my iva come out of the wood work ? I understand if they passed whilst I was in the iva then it could be a issue , but I’m just wondering , putting me down as the executor do they need to know about my iva at this point ? Thank you

No, they do not need to know about the IVA and are free to name you as executor -- hopefully it will never become an issue and you will be well out the other side by the time they pass.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
