My daughter was left by her partner last year and left with debts of £20000 plus her mortgage. It is complicated but the debt is all in her name as her partner did not have a bank account and the debt was ammassed in order to buy cars that kept breaking down. When he left they had a 14 month old son and my daughter discovered she was pregnant. She has now had her baby but is getting depressed and even more worried about the debts she is unable to pay. She currently has CCJ's against her and I am very worried for her. She is currently considering going to the CAB to discuss bankruptcy and has been told that she doesn't have enough disposable income to instigate an IVA. Can you help in any way? Thank you.

Hi Sue and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's troubles, but there will be a solution for her - it's just a case of finding it. I would suggest that she contacts a couple of companies for advice - have a look on www.iva.com for reviews of companies, or contact any of the professionals who post on here.

An excellent link provided above and all debt solutions can be discussed with your daughter by any company to give all important case specific free advice. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

How much disposable income does she actually have Sue - assuming that her former partner is paying child maintenance properly?
