JMW,someone once told me if you wait until you can afford children you would never have one. You make sacrifices and cutbacks.

An IVA shouldnt cause you to put your life on hold,we dont get long enough on this planet as it is to be trapped by debts!!

Paul
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

Lots of people have babies during an IVA - and the very vast majority of them finish off their payments perhaps with a little help from their IP and creditors along the way.

Paul is right - life goes on, and with a little juggling and struggling most do manage.

well i own the house mortgage in my name only we have a clause in iva after 4-and half years but as we stand we won't have to give them anything at moment.can you just move sideways and not get a bigger mortgage .

If you lender will allow you to do this and it doesn't affect your payments then I think your IP would be favourable towards this? x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I have 3 children & my girls share a bedroom & they are now 11 & 9. And actually there baby brother is often in bed with them!! They like it & i shared a bedroom when i was little with my brother. It might be better to complete the IVA & then look for bigger because if you go for a sideways move you may end up in a worse location with worse schools etc.

we have seen houses that are bigger and at the same price my mortgage is at the moment .The kids sharing is ok at the moment but we dont have a big garden have no room to move and we just wanted to see if it was at all possible to move really before we do anything .Would you need a deposit if your only moving sideways

Having a baby in a iba isnt bad at all we are better now with money that we was before with iva and to be honest you learn to manage my kids are never without .We even managed to go on our first family holiday abroad which not every one can do and i was out of work at the time so anything is possible dont let being in a iva put you off living your life. Our iva payments are quite big as me and my husband are in a joint one together,
