Driving home today and no brakes. It was scary. My friend is a mechanic and he is going to have a look and tell me what is wrong. No charge he is good like that. There is not a lot I can't do on a car so depending on what it is but these things are never cheap can I get the parts, keep receipts obviously and repair it. Is that allowed as I would have to pay it out of my overtime payments. Good thing is is that I would save on the labour costs. Hopefully it won't be much but without a car i can't get to work .

Do you have a vehicle allowance Danny? it would normally be funded out of any money accrued from this?

Keep your receipts but you would most likely be expected to fund this either from a car maintenance allowance(I assume you have one) or from your share of any overtime.
