Car insurance renewal - for anyone worrying about renewing their car insurance if you pay it monthly , I am 7 months into my iva and was really worried I would not be able to go with another insurance provider due to credit checks , my current provider diamond who I have been with for 5 years increased my premium by £20 a month which when on a iva isn’t great , I have just competed credit checks with a new insurance provider ( 1st central ) and all went through okay and have saved myself £12 a month so if anyone was worried like I was , I found it all very easy and straight forward and can now not worry for another year .
Does anyone know the extra £12 I have saved does this need to be paid into the iva ? Or can I keep the extra £12 to put towards other living expenses ? Thank you
When you do your review you will need to pop the new, reduced, premium into your expenses and it could, therefore, increase your disposable income and increase the IVA payment accordingly. But, I imagine, it could easily be 'lost' with a quid here and there on other expense categories.
