Hi mark I would definitely inform your IP now and they may possibly want to see a receipt fir the works done.

I had to take a payment break (paid a reduced amount) for a month or two and provided the relevant receipts and it was all fine, I paid my arrears off slowly each month and I'm not back up to date.

I would think your extra pay would have come under the 50% uplift ?
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

It is always better to seek your IP's permission in advance for things like this, rather than placing them with a fait accompli at the time of the annual review. A quick phone call or e-mail now, can avoid an awful lot of confusion at review time.

I agree that you should tell them now, rather than later.

Always best to be ahead of the game when you can.

Well I just rang my IP's customer services team and explained that I had paid out nearly £600 and had extra salary last month etc.....the repsonse from the guy on the phone "what would you like me to do?", [:(!]Well give me some advice would be nice!!!!!

It really annoys me when you speak to people on the other end of the phone following their customer service script and have not got a scooby about the industry they work in.....The only advice I got in the end was to send in a copy of the receipt with a letter requesting to offset the expense against my extra salary?

I think I will stick with emailing my IP direct in future [:)]

Oh that is not good Mark, not a good response, I too don't like shoddy customer care. Would you mind saying which company you're with?

I too speak directly to my IP, but I do know a lot of people within and IVA aren't able to do this. Stick with the emailing in the future at least the information will be correct. x

I am very disappointed to hear of the response you have received from one of our staff. Please send your name and if possible your customer number to ip@blairendersby.co.uk so that we can investigate it straight away. Thanks

Hi Mark,

I've had basically the same response from B&E, I have had a £500 car repair bill this month, I have asked to take a mortage payment break, which they refused and just told me to get on with it..... I told them I only have £80 to feed a family of 4 on for 3 weeks, they just said I should of saved money from my monthly expenses, believe me I would love to have some money left each month, but when there is over £100 deficit in my wages to what they have on my I & E its pretty impossible. I also only have an allowence of £25 per month for my car so 6 x £25 = £150.

I wish you good luck with them.....please post how you get on with them as its 10 days til payday for me and I only have approx £10 left with food running very low in the house and my fuel for the car is on the red!!!

I know its our fault we are in the situation, but its really tough on the kids not being able to go to parties etc cause we can't afford a small gift and relying on my Mum (who has no idea about the IVA) to feed them, I have gone without tea tonight (again) so we might have some food/money left for the kids.....at least I might lose some weight lol. Sorry to rant but I really want the IVA to work, I WANT to pay back what I can, but I also want to feed my kids and let them enjoy their childhood and not have to say no to parties, swimming, dancing, football and school trips.
