Been a bit of a blithering idiot. Our IVA is 6 years old in March and probably due to end a year later at the latest (couldn't get the remortgage to raise £10,500 equity release)unless our house sells in the meantime.
Anyway got into a few minor difficulties with Water board. Nothing which couldn't have been normally sorted out very simply however I'm afraid the timing was pretty bad for me. Been through hell the past few months with a few family issues (well you can't choose them can you?) and a disciplinary investigation hanging over me at work - I was cleared eventually : ) - but I took my eye off the ball and well before I knew it, I have been landed with a CCJ.
I can take the solicitor's fees on the chin that's fine. I got so wrapped up in family and work issues that everything else took a back seat. My fault, nobody elses. What I am concerned about is whether it have an adverse effect on my IVA. I am happy to make an offer of payment (contingency amount) and submit my I & E to the solicitors firm.
Should I just go ahead and do that or have I dropped a seriously huge b****k??
Speak to your IP and I am sure you will be able to sort something out.
Is there really much point explaining anything to IP if payment terms are accepted? I did take a 2 month payment break early in my IVA but that has been repaid now so I guess there is scope to request another but on the other hand, each month feels like a month too long now. I have been told 14 more months max and that's it
