We started our Iva in February 2013 and paid a full and final in 2015. We are now hoping to buy a house after renting for the past five years. We will have a deposit of around £100k from an inheritance. What are our chances of getting a mortgage now and what is our best way of going about it.

There is a good chance, depending upon thre percentage your deposit represents. Higher deposit percentyage = better deals. But, you would have access to even better deals after you have cleared up your credit files next year.
I would suggest a chat with Ryan and / or Shaun, whose details can be found under "Quick Links" tab, top left and then "The team" on the drop down. They are in yellow towards the bottom of the list. Lenders all have differing views towards IVA's and knowing who best to approach with a given set of circumstances is vital.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I would hope you have a very good chance with that deposit - the only sticking point will be the iva remains on file until 2019 even though closed.
Ryan and/or Shaun will have access to providers who may be able to help.

Hi Danni,

It will depend on lots of factors but having a good deposit will put you in a good position. Feel free to contact us to discuss your situation.
