I have had my IVA approved in November 2019 which has been such a relief! I've since been diagnosed with a chronic allergy condition and I've possibly got the chance to move closer to my work and my parents which will reduce my commute (& stress!) not a huge amount but enough to have a positive impact on my health and have my parents on standby for childcare should any problems arise.
I was just wondering if it all went through how this would work with the IVA?
I am a housing association tenant and my rent is covered by universal credit so any change in that respect would be covered so wouldn't be a change in my budget.
If the whole exercise doesn't unduly affect your budget there should be no problem. After all, better health prospects (and, indeed, emergency childcare on hand) will help the IVA to run smoothly, going forward.
The only issue I can foresee would be the renting of a new property as your credit rating is now rubbish! If you can transfer properties held by your housing association there would be less of a problem, but a private landlord (especially through an agency) could be a bit of a hurdle. Most of us overcome this by offering a larger deposit / rent up front and / or a guarantor.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
