Hi all,

I currently have an IVA in place for coming up to 2 years. I have a 9 month old baby and I plan to move in with my partner (the child's father) when I return to full time work in June. I was going to go down the lodger route but after speaking to someone it may get complicated as they may ask if the father is paying maintenance? I really don't want him involved as he is self employed and I don't want the IVA anywhere near his name.

Just to make things more complicated my other son who is 22 will remain living in our old place but at the moment is a student. Will they take in to consideration that I am still paying the bills at the old place?

Many thanks

Mel

Your partner is quite entitled to keep his financial affairs private and not divulge them to his IP.

On paying for your share of the new house, as well as keeping the old house going, I doubt your creditors would accept that --- they would, effectively, be subbing your son themselves !

Could you not 'stay' in the old place and keep things as they are I&E wise ---- whether you 'spend most nights' at your partner's house or not is of no concern to your IP.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
