I've just had a look at the Travelodge website and the nearest one hasn't got free parking which is a pain.

If it is the Ibis we're probably going to book a room but pay an extra fiver so we can cancel if necessary.

The travelodge I chose was £19.00 and £3.00 to park and was 8.4 miles away from the IBIS. My mistake Skippy.

Would love to come and meet you guys but would struggle for sitters due to all the festivities arranged around that time. Maybe another year and will also give me time to build up the courage to meet people face to face that are aware of our secret .

I was looking at a different one Lesley. The one I looked at was £25.50 for the room (plus breakfast) and parking in the shopping centre car park - £5 between 6pm and 8am and 'other rates' either side of that.

I wouldn't mind paying quite as much if the car park was on site, but I don't like walking through a town centre at night, especially if I don't know the area as I have a knack of getting lost!

I wouldn't fancy that one either Skippy to be honest, I'll drive a few miles extra, not drinking does have it's good points but the fact I don't like driving doesn't help. With bringing H with us we need a room for 3 as I can't afford 2 rooms for sure. x

I think the cheaper one meant going further north and I'd rather head back south! I'm just hoping it doesn't involve the M6 toll again - I'm still moaning about the amount it cost me for the BBQ!

I know what you mean about not drinking - I don't either and it does give us more options as we can still go if my mum can't look after Harry.

No worries there Skippy, Hubby says you don't have to touch the toll road.

I haven't read the whole of this thread, but wasn't last years in a hotel with a room exclusively for use of FF with a buffet?

For the want of sounding like a scrooge, I hate paying the prices TGIs charge and it's not very conducive for chatting about the things we may want to as they're always mega busy especially at Christmas.

Probably the Ibis just outside Coventry. It has a bar and restaurant. Rooms are £38 a night plus £6.95 for breakfast.

Mel decided against going back to the same hotel this year. As usual she will be paying for the food and drink on the Saturday night.

I will be speaking to the manager at the beginning of next month (currently she is on holiday) to see what they can do for us so watch this space.
