Hi there to both Nicola and Lou - and can I firstly say how pleased I am that we have been able to help you both.

Tina Shortland is one of the best debt advisors in the business, and I am priviliged to have her working on my team. She rarely gets the recognition that she rightfully deserves, so it is great to see her coming out the shadows a little and offering her own time to this valuable forum.

I shall look forward to speaking to you personally very soon, and am sure that I and my team can contribute to making a better future for both of you and your families.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Thankyou Melanie. You are so right about Tina. She is extremely knowledgable but it goes beyond that. She has a genuinely kind and empathetic nature that is so much needed in her kind of work and that many others in her same kind of work do not possess. She is a real asset to your team!! Thanks so much Tina!

Aw shucks, now I'm blushing - thanks for your kind words everyone, what a boost to a dull and damp day.

There are many great advisors out there but I wish even more would remember there are real people behind the facts and figures - people who's lives are in turmoil and who it has taken so much for them to dare pick up the phone in the first place.

I love the work I do and kind words like these make it even more rewarding, thank you :-)

Bit of a personal question Tina, but have you ever made use of insolvency services? Its just that to fully understand whats going on,you are either a very special person(and plenty think you are) or perhaps you have been in the situation many find ourselves in.

Either way to have someone like Mel sing your praises must put you in line for a payrise(hehe)!!!

Paul

ps sorry Mel!!
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

Hi Paul - thankfully I haven't been in that position but that is definitely not to say there are times when I could have managed my own finances a whole lot better! I have been a trained counsellor for many years so I guess the skills and attributes needed in that profession naturally come through when I am dealing with people in debt. I've always been what some call a 'people person' - I also used to be in HR for a large corporate many moons ago but when it moved to being more about the business and less about the employees I changed jobs pretty quickly!

At the end of the day, its just about treating people like the human beings they are instead of the problems that they have.

Regards,

I echo everyones feelings about Tina as she was the first point of call when I was in need of speaking to someone and at all times was I made to feel worthy as I felt worthless and she certainly changed my attitude towards my debt.

To have Tina as a first point of call for any company must be an asset and her manner is represtative of the whole of Melanie's team.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
