In the interim period - while waiting for the creditors meeting to decide if the IVA is going ahead or not - what contact should be made with creditors who will be affected by the IVA?
For example - an account with a creditor named in the IVA is now in arrears by one month - so they are sending letters saying pay now.
As the IVA is not in place - ( they have not voted yet ) - should they be told an IVA application is in progress or will it make them more aggressive in trying to get repaid in case they are forced into the IVA? Or does the fact an IVA application is in progress offer any protection - should you say debt advice is being sought - give them the IP details - or inform the IP yourself?
I am in the process of applying (signed and awaiting creditors meeting)
Ignore them and, if they call, tell them what you are doing.

All creditors will be informed by your IP, if they have not already been told. If they contact you --- this is often done by third party collections teams, who are a bit out of the loop --- just tell them you are entering an IVA and give them the IPs details.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
