Hi
According to the Mail on Sunday people will be able to access their credit reports online at a cost of £2, this can be paid with a credit or debit card. Up until now consumers have had to send a cheque or sigh up to a monthly scheme.
Good news

I signed up to the annual credit report site and get a report once a year for £4-97. This new service will be a big bonus to those who want a little peek to see how bad the scores on the doors are!!!

Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

I don't even want to look at mine, but it is good news for those who do!

I tried to sign up for a free trial completed the application form on line only to get an email saying that I needed to send originals of different forms of ID as they were unable to confirm my identity from the information given? we have lived in the same house for almost 12 years I have had the same name for almost 38 years so I am not sure what the problem was. I haven't sent the documents as I am always wary of sending originals.

Yes on the electrol role and as I said been married nearly 38 years and have been living at the same address for 12 years so I am at a loss as to why they don't have enough information to identify me. I know my credit repeort will be rubbish but was just interested.

How strange!

Perhaps worth a phone call to them?

Bah, just out of interest, I thought I'd look at my report now they are online.

The first thing it asks for is your card details, then it asks for your address and how long you've been there.

Then it said to me 'sorry there is a problem' and told me to ring up!

So much for technology!

Perhaps they are still in the process of setting it up.

The £2 statutory report from Equifax has been available to view online for some time as I have had done this a few times now & viewed it straight away.

The Experian one says they send you an e-mail within 4 days to let you know the report is now available to view online.

Hi Jan

I have exactly the same problem. I posted it on here a while back but couldn't get no answer.
Here's is the email they sent me:
Following further investigation our system indicates that you are registered for Protective Registration. Equifax put a high premium on security of information and we take our obligations very seriously to protect your data and ensure that we do not send your Credit File to anyone but you.

As you were unsuccessful on line because of the protective registration, no payment went through and your card details were not stored.

If you want to continue to get a report i,m afraid you will have to follow the below instructions, if not no payment will be taken.

To help us do this, we would kindly request that you supply a copy of one of the following documents displaying your name, current address and an issue date of within the past eight weeks, which we will then use to validate your application.

Utility Bill
Bank or credit card statement
Letting/Lease agreement

In addition to one of the above documents please also enclose a photocopy of either your Passport or photo Driving License.
