Hi guys,I have completed a IVA, which was Full and Final Payment and settled in May 2017. I have received my certificate of completion and appears all the stress and sleepless nights are gone. However over the last six months a company by the name of Moorcroft has been calling me and appear to be in pursuit of my previous debt. My supervisor has emailed them on numerous occasions and informed them that said debt was included in my IVA and also sent a copy of My IVA, including reference numbers and correspondence with Halifax and asked them to desist from any further contact, however they are still contacting me and have stated that all information forwarded is not sufficient.. My supervisor is at at loss to why all is not to their satisfaction and recommended i report them to the Ombusman,, Where do I go from her ??
Just let them take you to court - claim costs and compensation for distress.

Moorcroft's are parasitic debt collectors and are trying their luck. They know full well that they can make no legal claim to your ex-debts and hope that harassment may just tip you over and you end up paying them. The debt they bought it worthless and they will try any tactic to get some of their investment back. Harassment is a criminal offence and you are within your rights to report them to the Poilce.
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues
Thank you for your replies.. I contacted Moorcroft and informed them, yet again that this was included in My IVA and also re-sent a copy of this which shows the agreed dividends to creditors, namely the one that they are chasing me up on. They informed me that my account is on hold for one month until they have all information and reassess my file, I advised them that I have forwarded all information to the Ombudsman and been advised from my IP to stop taking calls from them and more forward, easier said when these people are relentless. Maybe I should just block them and move on, but I cannot on principal that these companies, as stated are allowed to continually harass us. Will follow up on outcome, when I hear. Thanks
Sorry for not following up sooner, but I could not find my log-in details. I wrote a letter to Moorcroft informing them of my complaint to the ombudsman and within a week received a phone call from a manager apologising for all the distress and continued phone calls and letters and as way of apology would be sending me a cheque for £500.00 and most importantly that they were in receipt of my completion certificate and my name removed from their data base.. So case settled.
Also (this made me scour my old computer to find log-in details):----
I recently applied for a mortgage and was (I Live in N. Ireland) advised, all should be fine and with a very healthy deposit my chances were more than decent...Wrong. I withdrew from the purchase and lost a small deposit.
I contacted Ryan from this forum for advise and he replied almost immediately, actually emailing me for information until almost 11pm and again throughout the following day and then advised me personally when calling me that he could secure a mortgage but unfortunately they would not lend to Northern Ireland. Ryan advised to sit tight for another two years and other general advice which I am extremely grateful for and would not accept any financial cost for all his time. Thank you Ryan.. Your a Gentleman Sir !!
Great to hear the Moorcroft was finally sorted out -- and with an added bonus !
Pity about the mortgage, but good to hear that Ryan was a help. He has assisted many members of this forum and, often, to clear up issues where he is not going to actually place a mortgage, but just wants to help.
This is also true of other industry experts, such as Lisa Thomas, Shaun Vickery and Keith White who regularly post to help other forum members.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
