I don't know if anyone on here is from Cumbria or has family and friends in the area, but my thoughts are with the poor people there today.

My mum lives a couple of miles from whitehaven, I couldn't believe it. I had to phone her at lunch time just to make sure she hadn't gone into town shopping. She was scared of going outside. It's such a quiet area, something you expect in a big city, not a quiet little town in west cumbria.

Terrible events. How long before the gutter press track down the ex-wife and kids to offer money for a story, which is usually what happens.
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.

Funds paid to date accepted as F&F 16th August 2013, the wait for completion begins.
Wait over....certificate recieved 3rd May 2014

Sadly I would imagine the NOTW are already on the case.

When I first saw that someone had been shot I'm ashamed to say I didn't take a lot of notice - living near London shootings aren't headline news unfortunately. When it became clear what was happening I couldn't believe it.

I'm glad your mum is ok Louise x

and if Spews Of The World do approach his family they should tell them where to go.

Time for another amendment to the firearms act. Guns shouldnt be owned by individuals but rather by carefully licenced gun clubs, and a 10 year mandatory jail term should be the sentence for anyone caught carry a firearm.

Tragic loss of life.

RIP
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

Its awful news & my heart goes out to those whom have lost a loved one & effected by the tragedy.

U really just do not know what is round the corner n its times like these to treasure life.
No matter how hard things get - nothing can be worse than losing a loved one at the hands of another.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

After I watched the news on Sky yesterday lunchtime I walked back to my car and it suddenly hit me that I was doing exactly the same as those poor people in Cumbria, going about my daily business. Who knows what fate has in store?

I see the tabloids are starting to blame the police which I think is wrong - whatever they did was going to be wrong.

Its a rural community with a few small towns, they don't have the massive police resources of other parts of the country. Where I live the police presence is very obvious, its just not like that in west Cumbria

Exactly. Even Surrey or the Met would struggle with 30-odd crime scences over such a large area.

I think it is wrong to blame the police, they had no way of knowing what he was going to do.
No history - No reason to worry.
