Do I have to declare an old Iva from 7 years ago, now competed and removed from credit file? What would happen if I fail to declare it?

If you are asked if you have ever been in an IVA or other insolvency solution you must answer yes. If you are asked if you are in an IVA you can truthfully answer no.

Lenders sometimes keep their own records for longer than the six years. If you don't declare it and it is found out it would be classed as fraud.

You could speak to one of our resident mortgage advisors, Shaun or Ryan - details under the experts link on the left hand side of the page.

Depends entirely on the wording of the question, if they ask. Soime ask if you have 'ever' been in an IVA, some put a time scale on the question. Some talk about 'being' in an IVA some say since it started or ended. And a few, apparently, don't ask at all.

I can only advise you to answer honestly --- a lie is fraud. You might get caught out.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
