A friend used her Argos card to purchase a mattress for me and then went into an Iva herself. She now wants the money for the mattress from me even though this was added to her IVA. Do I have to pay her?

Morally I would say yes, but, as she is effectively only repaying a portion of the debt through the IVA, maybe you could offer to pay that portion. Of course, if the IVA fails, then she will, again, owe the full debt and interest again. At the end of the day, I imagine that this is an informal agreement between the two of you, so enforcement would be questionable.

She is being a bit cheeky. If you are genuinely indebted to her then she should have listed you as a debtor in her IVA and the repayment should be paid into her IVA.

Perhaps ask her for evidence of this and advise that you will need to pay the monies direct to her IP...!
