The IVA is held on a register which the public have access to. However few people know about it and they would have to search your name and not get a printout of everyone who is listed.

Thanks for the reply. I am a FS recruitment agent and am now coming across a large amount of advisers with iva's and CCJ's Whilst i believe the FSA will allow them to carry on selling, some companies dont. i am trying to see if a company does a public search on one of my candidates would the iva they have show on this record like it clearly would on a credit check.

If they search the Insolvency Register then the IVA will show up against the individual's name.

The only thing I hate about my IVA is anyone could google my name, and there is my IVA for all to see.

They don't need to search the insolvency register itself, it's the first thing that comes up under google results!

How bizarre, mine doesn't now either.

I have checked regularly throughout the five years, and it has been there previously.

Why not now??

Maybe there is more interesting stuff about your name or the Google spiders don't read the insolvency register any more! Good news though. x

Are you saying that your name isn't on the register anymore?

That is strange as you haven't quite finished yet.

I think she means if you type your name into Google search it doesn't come up as a link.

Google spiders read web pages but where data is supplied via a database that displays the results of the search that should not be picked up.

For instance, you are reported in a newspaper, that exists as a real internet page on the papers website and can be picked up and indexed for searching but a page that looks up your name in a database is not accessable via these bots as this page exists 'dynamically' and only exists when the the search is created and dies when you close your browser window (or lives only as long as your browser window is open and only to you)

This is the reason you have to go to for example the insolvency register and search for you name, google bots can't do that.

Another new thing learned......don't type your own name into the insolvency register!
