Does Credit file need updating

My daughters split with her partner 12 years ago
His name is still on the mortgage and a personal loan linked to house she has been paying both since she has applied for a repayment mortgage with Halifax in her name only they had agreed loan but their solicitor Optima have said ex partner is declared himself bankrupt so they cannot recommend loan to Halifax her ex says he has completed the iva he took out 8 years ago his name does not appear on the national iva list i checked could his credit file with eqiufax just need updating

An IVA and bankruptcy are different things. If it is the old IVA causing problems he will need to clean up his credit files, yes. Also you can check his name on the Insolvency Register to make sure the old IVA was, in fact , completed.

Hi Morrey,

As Foggy says it should be one or the other so worth maybe finding out a bit more. If there was a restriction against the property in question it may need to be removed before the re-mortgage can go through.
