Hello

I just wanted to let you know my full and final iva was paid very recently so all I am waiting for is my completion certificate.

I've been made redundant and have started applying for jobs within financial services. I had a telephone interview fir a Team Leader role and proceeded to the next steps which is completing an online application form. One of the questions that is being asked is

" do you or have you had any judgments and/or been discharged from bankruptcy "?

Do I need to tell them I was in an iva which has recently been paid off as full and final as they will be do credit checks.

Can anyone offer any advice or guidance please.

Thanks

Foggy

The answer to that question as worded, is strictly "No" --- an IVA is not BR, nor is it a court judgement. But, I would be inclined to mention the IVA first as they will see it and arguing semantics at a job interview might not be the way to go.

Thank you Foggy for your reply.

I'd like to be very transparent but because it's an online application form with a Yes or No tick box it doesnt allow me to add any comments. So I'm big sure what to do. I agree with you I'm better off telling them upfront rather than having to argue /justify why I never disclosed it in the first place.

In that case, I would tick "No" .... yes to the BR bit might be a complete no go without the chance to explain yourself.

Thank you Foggy.

I will tick the No box for now and see how far I get. I will contact the company and have a discussion with the HR dept too.

Thanks again

Good luck from me as well.
