Hi all,

Back in the start of July, a F&F offer was accepted on my IVA with Step Change. I spoke to them today to chase up my completion certificate and they seemed to think it would be with me in the next couple of weeks.

A couple of questions, if I may:

1) What happens next with regards to the insolvency register? Does my name stay on there until the 6 year anniversary?

2) Once I get the certificate, will it be ok for my wife and I to put our finances together again? We have kept them very separate, but it would be easier for us to manage everything if it's all in one place. I am worried, however, about affecting my wife's excellent credit score.

Thanks all!

With the Insolvency Register it will be on there for up to three months once they receive details from your IP but your credit record will be shot for 6 years from the start of your IVA.

I would wait until your records are clear before looking at any joint finances. Keep checking.

What Kallis said :-)

You can start doing a bit of checking and correcting, if needs be, while awaiting that 6th anniversary. Have a read here: https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record
