I was wondering whether anyone had experience of obtaining a mortgage post IVA. We completed our IVA last August, a year early, but are now in a position where we desperately need to buy a house. Does anyone have any advice please?

Hi
All I can advise is to use a mortgage broker that can search the whole of market.
You may find more options open to you once the IVA is off your credit file, this will be six months from when it started

Hi Nikkihome,

A lot of Mortgage Brokers will request an upfront fee from clients with a bad credit history. However this is not the case with all of them!

As Andy mentioned after the IVA is removed from your credit file you may find more options and better rates become available. If you have been able to save up a good sized deposit then this will help also.
