Hi Simbel, if the warranty company is separate from Argos then they should have been paid by Argos when the policy was taken out, therefore no need for them to speak to Argos. If you purchased the item less than 12 months ago then Argos may replace it there and then. Argos were one of my creditors but I managed to have an item replaced recently because I had the original reciept within 12 months of purchase. You can but give it a go.
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.

Funds paid to date accepted as F&F 16th August 2013, the wait for completion begins.
Wait over....certificate recieved 3rd May 2014

Thanks Andy1964 I will try tomorrow - I don't know whether the company is part of Argos, the breakdown cover leaflet has the Argos logo on it - but as you say I can only try!

Just looked on Argos website and the replacement cover is provided by Domestic and General, so you should have no issues with them as they would have been paid in full for the policy by Argos card services.

I cant see how a store wouldnt just check the warranty was bought and swap items. You should be fine.

Argos are notoriously bad at replacing items I'm afraid. The web is littered with stories about it.

I suspect it'll be shipped off to Apple for a repair.

I am sure that would be acceptable to the OP.[:)]

Hello everyone - many thanks for all your replies - I made the call to Domestic and General who advised me that a maintenance company would give me a call within a couple of hours, well they just did - they are sending a courier round to pick up the ipod on Thursday and take it back for repairs, if they can't repair it then they will inform Domestic and General who will send us Argos Vouchers for a replacement - all within 3 weeks.

I'm so glad that I listened to you all (many thanks Jan for pushing me!)

Thank you everyone. X [:)]

[:D][:D] - apparently one of her friends has been kind enough to let her use her old mp3 for the next 3 weeks.

Excellent result Simbel!

It had to be worth a try. Just make sure your daughter goes nowhere near a puddle when she gets the new one!
