Hello everyone. Been in our IVA now three months & all is well.
However, I can see a problem on the horizon. Our fridge freezer is rapidly failing & is beyond repair. Looks as though a new one will soon become a necessity. At present I am earning overtime so I am paying 50% of this into the IVA. Would it be possible to keep some of this towards a new fridge freezer. Even if I paid half from my overtime money & half from the offset amount. Any advice welcome.

Thanks

Mark.
Keep smiling. It could be worse.

I suspect that your IP will be expecting you to fund this from your share of the overtime before dipping into creditors - but best to ask them directly as their decision may be different to that I would make.

Thanks for your advice. Thought that would be the case. At least it has happened whilst I am able to earn overtime, so it could have been worse.

Its highly likely you would have to fund this from your own share of the overtime, but you can only ask the question to your IP!! You just never know.

Not sure if this is of any help what-so-ever, so please ignore if not, my intentions are to help![:)] but have you looked at your local 'Freecycle' I know on my local group people have given away really good (and sometimes almost new) Fridges/Freezers, you might get lucky and get a 'new' one for free! [:)]
Trying to be thrifty!

Thriftywitch,

i have never used freecycle but a friend of mine has just had a literally brand new cooker through freecycle. The lady had replaced the cooker and then decided to change the kitchen.

So it is definately the place to look.

It is something that lots of people use now.
