After about 2 weeks of going through a lot of these post i decided to say hi!
After spending the last hour on the phone going through our proposal i am feeling a bit iffy,it's the not knowing whether we will be accepted for our iva or not!
We have just shy of £20000 debt between 5 creditors..our main one been sainsburys bank,i can not seem to find any one on here that has them as a creditor and wanted to know how they vote!
Other creditors are Nationwide,Blackhorse,Santandar & Virgin(who i belive don't agree!)
Please give me some reassurance,it could be 20th oct before meeting.

Thanks...i hope this makes sence!
IVA STARTED OCT 2010,LAST PAYMENT 18TH NOVEMBER 2016. COMPLETION CERTIFICATE ARRIVED 17TH DECEMBER 2016.

Hi
All companies are agreeable to IVAs, even MBNA. They just have as criterea that you need to meet if they are a majority creditor

Hi Shaz
Welcome.
I do not have the answer for you because I have not yet had
my creditors meeting, however am sure the others will be along shortly to share their experiences. Just remember that your IP has put forward the best possible offer and wouldn't do this unless it was the best way forwrd. Good luck and I wish you patience!

Hi Shaz and welcome.

We've all felt like this before our creditor meetings, it's normal to have doubts.

Your IP wouldn't have accepted your proposal if he/she wasn't confident it would be accepted.

Ask away shaz or have a rant or even just come on here for a virtual hug. There's usually someone around.

Thanks,it's good to talk to people in the same situation,i just feel really ashamed that it has come to this but it's our own fault i suppose. Hopefully we will learn from our mistake. I will keep you posted.

Hi and a warm welcome from me too. I remember the 'what if's etc., but as others have said the best proposal will be on the table and I'm sure you'll be fine. Keep in touch x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Was going to say patience may be an age thing!!!Then I remembered that I feel exactly as you do!! I kow that it is easy to say don't feel ashamed but you should be very proud that you have recognised the problem and have done something to be resolve it, feel proud of that. We have all been there and understand the mayhem that goes on in your head late at night.

Hi shaz, believe it or not the shame goes away and you will come to accept the situation and not let it define you. Creditors obviously vote differently in different situation and I don't know your proposal, but Virgin didn't even vote for me and they were one of the biggest.

Two of my creditors were the same as yours.

Virgin (which I think is MBNA) didn't vote in mine either, but they were my smallest creditor.

And, Nationwide agreed on mine. They were one of the largest creditors.

As others have said, your creditor will only put the best offer forward, so hopefully your IVA will be approved, but it's normal to feel worried. We all have, but when you get the call to say it's been approved you will feel a huge relief.
