In the current climate it is almost impossible to get a remortgage whilst in an IVA so many people are having 12 months added. You should still expect to get a review.

Worth noting that extending an IVA by 12 months is preferable to getting a costly sub prime remortgage at a higher than usual interest rate, and also you maintain any equity that you have in the property.

Only my opinion but I would certainly rather pay an extra 12 months than end up tied into a rubbish rate mortgage until I could get a normal high street one again!!!

I don't think many people are able to remortgage at the moment and I believe you will need to do a review.

We are going to celebrate so much when it is over.

I think just to know that if an emergency crops up we won't have to juggle things and ask to borrow money from parents etc.

We have certainly learned. In fact we are in a routine now where I think we will continue to do what we are doing and save the money that would have gone into the iva (well maybe some of it). lol. x

We plan to save a good chunk of the money we currently pay into our trust deed, after its all over.

Its a strange feeling saving up money, something I am still trying to get used to.

We needed a plumber to fix a broken washing machine connector tap the other day,got a fixed price of £105 for the 10 minute job and it actually felt good not having to use a credit card to pay, although it meant the contingency fund took a hit!!!
