Hi! We are on our last 3months payment of our IVA with Aperture (DFD before), and today have received an email that they have assigned First Dispute Management for any mis-sold claims.
Prior to this, Equity in Finance have already been dealing with all mis-sold PPI etc., and Aperture is aware of that and should have copies of all Equity in Finance documents.
Should we fill up this forms again? Will this not delay the issuance of our completion certificate if we are not happy to apply with this company?
Hoping to hear your advice.
Many thanks.

You are obliged to comply with any reasonable request and to refuse will delay completion. The fact that PPI has already been dealt with is not important, as the ombudsman has recommending that old claims be revisited and, indeed, I am hearing of previously refused claims being admitted the second (or third) time round as well as increases on previously admitted claims. With the deadline for PPI claims looming Aperture are going into panic mode for one last try.

Doesn't hurt to fill it in - may make your completion happen quicker.

Thank you for your replies.
I have emailed back First Dispute Management to request for that form to be sent so we can fill it up asap.

I would be inclined, first, to check with Aperture if they have actually engaged First Dispute.

I too have been contacted but completed my IVA a couple of years ago. Please read the small print from FDM as it is outrageous and they do not even state what their fees will be.

If you do have any claims to mis-sold PPI my advice is to claim it yourself using template letters on websites such as MSE/ CAB.

You will have to pay it into your IVA but at least it will be 100% of your claim.

Aperture basically forced me to use their appointed company Slater, Hayward and Law who would have deducted 41% + for basically doing something I could easily have done myself. This was also the second company they appointed during my IVA.

I agreed as they would have withheld closure and I also knew I had never had PPI but had checked anyway at least twice before entering the IVA.

To be honest, re: fees and DIY -- as it all goes to the IVA I would rather they did any work and they paid the fees .... I am not getting any of it, why should I work for it ? It is not my problem, nor my concern.
Perversely, the more you save on claims company fees, and the more paid into the IVA, the more the IP gets for doing nothing at all.

I suspect that this is why they feel the need to offer a "reward" in the form of statutory interest. You might get something that you would otherwise not have had.

I am sure that if they could compel you and keep the interest themselves that they would !

That all said, many people spend hours agonising over something that would take 5 minutes and is no real hardship or any loss.
