I am in an IVA ( solely ) with 2 years to go, including the extra year for property. The balance owed is about £ 4500. My husband died in July and his estate has been estimated at £ 9,000. I also received a £2500 Bereavement Support Allowance. I have been told they will take all of the BSA, bar £500, and half of the rest of the estate

.I would like to make a full and final offer, and they've told me that's what they would like. So they know I will have £ 4500. Would they accept an offer ? I could not afford the £200 a month I was paying. I feel I will be left with nothing in a house that's falling down around my ears.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

Given the circumstances I would hope that an offer of £4500 would be looked at seriously and I would suggest a frank discussion with your IP -- might I ask which firm you are with ?

So sorry to hear of your loss - let's hope Aperture will be sympathetic.

I was with Aperture when they were in their Grant Thornton days. They used to get a lot of bad press as GT and still get a fair bit as Aperture, but, I have to say, when my world collapsed around me they certainly stepped up to the plate and came through for me. Let's hope they can do the same for you.

To be fair its not up to Aperture - it will be up to the creditors to accept any offer, although if Aperture write a supporting report this can only help.

Best of luck.

This is true -- it is up to the creditors. However the support from your IP is invaluable and the IP's opinion can heavily influence the outcome.
