I have been phoned again by a company being quite abusive because I would not confirm my address they said they were working on behave of Buchan Clark & Wells and they are called Activ capital. I told them that I would not confirm and she started shouting at me so i asked for their fax number and ref number as my IP had told me to do. I feel awful now after 3 years in an IVA i thought the worst part was over..... but i was wrong [V]

Hi,

I should not worry, if this debt is part of your IVA then they cannot do anything anyway. I would politely just say I am in an IVA and put the phone down.

No doubt these are people working on commission so they do get very aggressive. If it carries on get your IP to deal with it.

There is no need for anyone to be contacting you three years into an IVA, let alone treating you in a pretty appalling manner. Next time this happens get their name, and make a complaint to their Head Office or the financial ombudsman.

It is bad that they are contacting you, but I wouldn't let it bother you.

I'm afraid I would have been just as abusive back!

- When they call and ask for you, say that they have the wrong numner.
- Call up your service provider and get that number barred.

Aktiv Kapital are terrible!

I was still receiving letters 4/5 years into my IVA asking me to ring them as they were chasing payment & offering me a settlement discount on my outstanding balance if I paid straight away!

It does make you feel awful when you are so far in your IVA & still receiving these letters! However, in the end I learnt to ignore them & just forwarded every letter to my IP!
