I have recently been taking care of a family’s friend relative as they are unwell , I did this free of charge and out of the goodness of my heart I never once asked for payment as I was doing it as a favour , now the person is better the family want to gift me £1000 cash to say thank you to me , my iva review is in a months time , I don’t really want cash laying around my home , my iva have only asked for 3 months worth of bank statements , if I was to pay this into my account in say 3 months time when the review is over do you think this would be okay ? Or am I better off asking a family member to keep it for me in their account ,

Thank you .

I would ask them to keep it for you otherwise your iVA may well swallow it up.

Ask them to keep it for you, for a while. Your IP might have asked for 3 months statements before, but they might decide on 12 months at any time, or to look back at any period in the future.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
