I love this post and the following messages.
We did our IVA with three children. One became a teen, one was 5-10 and the other was newborn-5.
Hard work.
Growing baby, young lady wanting phone etc, lots of christmasses and birthdays and friends parties.
but we knuckled down, went without, saved a few pounds (literally) where we could.
We use the love2shop vouchers and took the money for it from other allowances (this was never an issue by the way) and knew
we had money aside for christmas.
like you say Sam its taught the kids they cant have have have.
My 16 year old saves money. She knows we have to shop around or wait or go without.
Its made them more awarenof debt and staying within your means.
Its meant we have had tomdo things which are free or cheaper and not have the big holidays or expensive days out but I dont think thats a bad thing.
Congratulations on completing your IVA. It was the best thing we have ever done and has put us in a much better financial place than I ever thought possible.
Keep going everyone. Its worth it
