Hi
I’m new here, I’ve completed my IVA a few months ago and still waiting on a completion certificate.
I’m looking to buy a property and have half the amount for a deposit. Can anyone suggest any good mortgage lenders that will offer to take me on? I am in full time employment in NHS and also have a guarantor. Thanks

Well done on completing. Have a word with either Shaun or Ryan who are our resident experts on here for some advice. Details can be found via the IVA experts page.

Hi MizzMoney. Firstly congratulations on completing your IVA, nearing the end of a long road no doubt :D The fact that you have had an IVA will certainly be a limiting factor but it is really only one aspect of any mortgage application and lenders take many other things into consideration....so it's impossible to say without looking at the rest of your circumstances (and indeed, assuming that a product is available, whether it is the most competitive one). It may also be necessary to do a little cleaning up of your credit file - making sure that no defaults etc. relating to the IVA post-date the IVA, that you are registered on the voters' roll etc. All of these things really need to be checked BEFORE making an application as any rejections may limit further your chances of success. The fact that you have a sizeable deposit will be a big help but it won't clinch it by itself and you may need the help of a specialist adviser.

Hi Shaun

Thanks It was a tough 5 yrs and the payment was achievable which helped. Can you suggest a specialist advisor and I’m already on the voters register at my current address. There are no defaults on my IVA as it should be all cleared now.
I have been offered a credit card to build up my credit rating which I’m managing and I’ve set up different accounts to manage my money better. Can you suggest a specialist advisor as I’d like to get the ball rolling.

MizzMoney, Shaun is a specialist in this area and it would be worthwhile contacting him direct using the details under his post.

Zebra Money also have a good track record with these applications and can be contacted through Ryan, whose details can be found here: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=18488
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
