Hi, having called hanover insolvency telling them that due to the pandemic I couldn't keep up with the agreed monthly payments.. they asked me to provide proof of the universal credit payments which I provided via email, however they still made several attempts to take funds from my account and succeeded in taking £150 ,the full agreement amount.. this money was financial help from the government..
They looked at my bank statements and said because my account shows enough money had gone in they would not refund the £150 which was part of the Swiss grant also they didn't even consider my expenses knowing im selfemployed

If you feel that you have been unfairly treated you need to make a formal complaint, according to whatever Hanover's complaint process is and, if not happy with the response, you can then escalate the complaint to their regulatory body. Have a read here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... actitioner

The actual complaints gateway can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/complain-about-insol ... actitioner
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

This is why a standing order is the best way to pay.
