Feeling stupidly nervous.... have got my creditors meeting on Monday next week and the suspense is killing me. Debt is 40k with 30% dividend being paid back at £252 a month. How do I get through the next few days?!

I remember being there! Mine was £34k, paying about 39% (I think off hand as not at home with my papers) I was convinced it would fail but I am now 2yrs in! I even took the day of the meeting off work in case they phoned with modifications. There were none.

30% is a good dividend, as these things go. Most of us had sparkling clean homes the days before our meetings !

Good luck.

Thank you everyone. Meeting is at 1 today and I’ve utterly convinced myself that it will be rejected. What are my options if it is? I have around 22k equity in my house so don’t think BR is an option. How long do companies let DMP’s run for normally?

DMPs can run for many years if the creditors are happy for them to do so. But, you are not at that stage yet, so stay positive :-)

Thanks Foggy. Just don’t know what I’m going to do if it’s not accepted. Just want it over with so I can start looking forward to Christmas 😫

Ok... all accepted... I think! There was a query over the child maintenance that my husband pays. I think they thought that I pay it because it was shown on the household budget. They may ask for a bank statement from him evidencing it but otherwise should all be sorted. First payment to be made on Friday. Think I can relax now 😰. Thank you all for your reassurance

Well done and welcome to your journey to debt freedom ! You should have already done this a few times, but, when you get the chance, sit down with your proposal and read it a couple of times, so there are no surprises ahead. You do have to keep an eye on these things as, at the end of the day, it is YOUR arrangement, not theirs (the IP).

We are always here to answer any questions or niggles.
