Best mortgage broker for a first time buyer after an IVA?
IVA will be off record at the end of September and my wife and I would very much like to buy our first home...

I would suggest a chat with a whole of market broker with experience in adverse credit applications. We have two such who regularly post on the forum: Ryan and Shaun. Their contact details can be found on their profile pages here:

Ryan: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=18488
Shaun: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=22837
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Hello GMan.

Firstly congratulations on having completed your IVA. Once your IVA disappears from your credit record this is certainly a watershed moment and opens up more mortgage products to you (depending on your other circumstances of course). The important thing at this stage is to prepare your application before actually making a formal application to give yourself the highest chance of success. This is something that we, and other worthy Advisers, would do with you. It is important not to apply randomly or unprepared to lenders as the record of a declined application on your credit file can damage your chances.
Specialist Mortgage Advisers. Highly Commended at the British Mortgage Awards.
