As usual, excellent help from this board and I hope it’s eased gavin’s fears.

It incenses me when I hear about such phone calls. I was lucky enough not to get any, but I’m not sure how I would have reacted to such a call. It’s outrageous that these companies are allowed to get away with saying such utter tripe. OK, the money is owed to them, but at least the person who owes the money is trying to sort the problem out. They are just trying to take advantage of vulnerable people. I’m sure if these calls were recorded and presented to the company concerned they would deny any knowledge of instructing their staff to say such things. As if the person calling would have had the intelligence to say that themselves without any guidance from their manager. It doesn’t take much imagination to picture the scene in the call centre.
