Hi,

I need your help desperately. I initiated completion procedure for my IVA last may (2009) and made the final payment in November (2009). I have yet to receive the completion certificate or an acknowledge letter from my IVA administrators.

I have lost my patience after 12 months of horror with these people who keep giving so many excuses.

I just want to move on my life and I'm stuck and I my family helped me settle my debt because I have (embarrassed to say this) anxiety and depression problems. This problem has cause me more stress in my life and i'm on high medication right now because of this problem. I was told normally it only takes 8 weeks but it has taken more than 8 months and still no result.

What can I do? who can I complain to? Can I take to the courts?

Please help me

Thanking you.

Kind regards,

AZ

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your problems with this - it is an awfully long time to wait for your completion and unacceptable.

Have you tried speaking to your IP direct or has it only been the Office Staff?

There is a link below so that you can email your IP directly which may help:

Hi,

I have tried to call everyone with no avail.

They keep flogging me off with excuses and even today I rang them up and told me what they told me almost 8 months ago that paperwork has been drawn and will be dealt soon whereas two weeks ago they told me that my certificate will be dispatched by Friday....... they keep lying to me.

And I feel so helpless and has caused me so much mental stress that somedays I just breakdown ......

I will try that link.

Thanx for advice

Which company are you using? It might be one that posts on here and can possibly sort you out.

Otherwise I would use the link that Ray posted and speak to your IP direct.

Have you checked on the Insovency Register to see if you are still on there?

Hi,

I'm with Grant Thornton ....... initially I was with Wilson Phillips and they were brilliant and very efficient but since GT took over WP it's like they are these bunch of people from Hell who don't care about the customers and more like robots.

I never called and harassed them or spoke rudely and I always told them that just tell me what is going on and once i even waited three months for them to come back to me as they told me it will be done by end of three months. Now I know that they just lied to get rid of me from calling.

It would be really helpful if someone who knows these bunch of cowboys to help me with this issue. My last resort is to file a case in the courts if it gets to that.

Thanx everyone

That does not sound like the usual good client care from Grant Thornton that we are used to reading about on the forum.

There may be difficulties they have encountered in taking over your case from the previous IP firm - if you would like to send me your details via e-mail I can put you in touch with their Client Care Manager who is sure to contact you directly and sort this out for you.

Hi Melanie,

Thanx for the reply, much appreciated.

Can you please let me know your email address and I will email you my details asap and thanx for your help.

From my knowledge my takeover went fine and I was administrated by GT for almost 6 months before started my final settlement process last may 2009. It took them three months to draft the proposal and it took up until November to get a final meeting and i paid in first week in November and since then I haven't even received a single letter stating that they are dealing with the final process of closing. Only thing they did was bullied me into signing optional terms which will make money for GT.

The lady who was the supervisory team in Belfast who was dealing with my case, hung up on me more than few times ........ and every time she picks up the phone she would put me on hold and cut me off. If I was a rude customer then I can understand but I'm not ...sometime I think I need to start talking with Fs in front of my words but that is not going to achieve anything.

Thanx again

Regards
