I look in fridge and freezer to see whats leftand plan this into the next weeks meals.I plan for every day, make a list and stick to it.I also use shops like quality save and farmfoods-2x2litre milk for 1.50 and 2x hovis bread for 1.00.I go there first to see if anything is cheaper then head for the supermarket.i also like aldi for their super 6 fruit and veg.I have become very frugal over the past 2 years and dont waste anything. When i think of all the money i wasted before on food, i used to throw food away to make room in the fridge!!
We use FarmFoods for some stuff like Youngs Fish Fingers in batter - can't them anywhere else. Other than that is the big supermarkets. Don't like Aldi or Lidl at all.

I just love farm foods, always get my bread from there, prior to IVA never shopped there. But they have some really good bargains....hubby loves the chicken piri-piri, his sat nite "take- away"!!!! LOL
Life is a struggle.......but its all worth it in the end!!!!
I wasn't impressed at all with Lidl and Aldi, and I have to admit that I only buy brands that I know in Farm Foods.
I have to say (and I'm really surprised by this!) that M & S can be quite cheap for some things - I buy gammon steaks (£5 for 4) and bacon there (£4 for 2 packs) as it's cheaper than Tesco.
It certainly pays to shop around I do know that, I go here there and everywhere to save a few £'s. Not ideal for everyone but where I live it works fine. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
I shop online once a month, buying fresh foods as needed I find that saves me a losd of money so the £5.50 delivery charge doesn't seem so bad. Some things in Aldi's I find ok other things are not to my taste. Aldi's are good for vegetables if you are eating them soon but don't seem to keep so well as the main supermarkets. Although I am lucky living where I do there are a lot of farm shops that sell really good vegetables at reasonable prices which is good if you can inore the other nice goodies the sell.

Nothing you can buy feels as good as not being in debt.
Yeah we seem to do the same a syou jan. big shop once a month online and a visit to iceland to stock up the freezer and do aldi for the fresh fruit and veg weekly. we've never had a problem with anything yet and its saved us a fortune. Always managed to find a free delivery code too which also helps
Our bread is usually from Tesco or Asda and is their own. I don't really like normal sliced loaves.
We have a man who comes into our local town every Monday and he sells continental foods and has bread to die for. We treat ourselves sometimes.
I stick to my weekly big shop, it works for us. I do tend to know the prices of most of the things we buy now. Can't be bothered to go to different shops to try and save a bit - what we save on food, we pay in petrol getting there.

Now M&S is not somewhere I would go for food shopping.
Our butcher does fresh meat which is wonderful and I do love the fact that he does single eggs, slices of bacon etc for the OAPs.

Ours is brilliant and he can get whatever we want. If we want chicken wings at all they are usually free, together with the spices to do them whichever way we want.
He's a sarcastic sod but we wouldn't have him any other way!

We plan all of our meals for the week. I think our food shop is where we save the most as we mansge to get some good bargains eg in asda quite often the baking potatoes are on sale. last week they were 27p for 4. So we buy a few bags and then chop them up for stew/mash etc.
We also go to a bargain shop for bday cards etc as they can be expensive. We get 5 for £1. Not as good quality as some places but we figure the ones that receive them will only throw them away after anyway.
Its now time to start living and to make some some wonderful memories!
