can anyone tell me how payplan work out the overtime payment I have overtime this week
of £98.41 gross I took off 34% and divided by two as instructed and sent them £32.47.
They then told me I had ovepaid it by £8.87 and it was £23.60 that was due ???
They are vague about telling me how they came to this amount but assure me its correct. Now I'm happy at being 8.87 better of but I still want to know how to work it out.

All I know is that it's usually 10% plus 50/50. How they work the figures out I haven't a clue.

Yes, I'm with Melanie Giles and I'm sure you are allowed to earn 10% and anything more than that is split 50/50 never heard of that calculation to be honest. Although I haven't got it yet I'm sure the rules regarding overtime should be stated in your chairman's report?

Hi
You need to work on net figures after tax and not gross figures before tax

Mine is just 50% after all deductions so this month i got £120 extra in my pay for OT this split nice and easy to £60 to my IP. Saying that mine aren't that strict about OT payments, i pay the amount in and at the end of the year they just add it up. Although this is now my last OT payment for about 4 months as ive refused to do any, need the time to play bikes and sleep!!

My hubbies IVA payments were based on 17 hours over time. He does more in the summer and loads less in the winter but over all its about 17 hours.

Was the overtime factored in to the normal payments? If so, I'm surprised. What would happen if the overtime was to dry up completely?

Hubby has done on average the same overtime for the past 20 years so not hard to work out. He is a groundsman for a racing stables so as long as the grass either needs mowing or watering the overtime is there. He had to sign a letter which said approx 17 hours avertime per fortnight(pay every two weeks wierd).
