I am currently in an IVA and need a new vehicle for work. I know I cannot take out any credit but wondered if there was any way of me leasing or contract hiring a vehicle without it affecting my IVA.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You need to speak to your IP about this as it might impact on your IVA payments.

Duncton are good for leasing cars for people with less than perfect credit histories.

Hi, as Jan says discuss it with your IP. How would you afford the lease payments without it affecting your IVA?

With a newer vehicle the maintenance costs are reduced and because I use the van daily I need reliability so if my vehicle is off the road the costs get scary. I can pay for it out of my income as it would be a tax deductable expense. If there is no way of doing this it means I have to keep this van until it falls to bits and my business with it, which doesnt benefit anybody. I will speak with my IP, who has always been very helpful but thought someone on here may have some ideas.
Thanks
Phil

We have a car via Duncton's Phil, but unfortunatley our IP wasn't helpful [:(]Leasing the car affected the IVA paymnets and eventually the IVA failed due to this. Hopefully your IP will help you, as it does make more sense to get a newer vehicle.

We have to pay for tyres and servicing, but the relief of having a reliable car outweighs the cost. Without the car, hubby couldn't work.

Good luck.

I agree with the others Phil, have a word with your IP, and if it's ok try Duncton. The APR is pretty high, but needs must.
